Colors to Use for Blueberries

Shades of blue from indigo to periwinkle. Greens for leaves and stems. Browns for basket textures or wood accents. Splashes of red or purple for shadowed areas.

How to Color a Blueberry

A. Layering Colors: Use a deep blue as your base coat for the berries. Add lighter blue highlights on raised areas, then shade crevices with purple undertones.

B. Blending Techniques: For clusters still on the bush, use varied green tones as a base. Blend in blue strokes while leaving highlights for that fresh-picked look.

Invite Creativity Challenge: Blueberry Buddies

Imagine whimsical blueberry characters and give them unique personalities through colorful outfits, expressions and tiny prop accessories!

For example, you could color a blueberry dancer wearing a tutu made of green leaves and holding a brown twig baton. This encourages creative storytelling while practicing detailed illustrative work.
