Colors to Use for Monsters
Use vibrant greens, purples, and blues for monster skin tones. Bright reds, yellows, and oranges add striking highlights and details.
Monsters can be any crazy color!
How to Color a Monster in Detail
A. Layering Colors: Start with a green base coat. Layer different shades of blue and purple on top for a textured, scaly monster look. Add yellow highlights.
B. Illustrating Specific Elements: Color monster claws, teeth, or horns bright white. Use black outlines around them to make the features really pop.
Invite Creativity Challenge: Symmetrical Creature
Pick one color and use different shades/tints of that color to create a symmetrical monster portrait on each half.
This bilateral challenge helps develop an eye for symmetry and shading consistency.
These colorful monsters are having a blast, but they’re curious about their mysterious cousin who lives in the snowy mountains. Let’s grab our warmest crayons and visit the friendly yeti to see if they’re ready for a chilly playdate!
